The Cohab/Aboulafia Group began operations in 1961 when Mr. Charles Cohab founded Trisoft Textil Ltda. (www.trisoft.com.br), today the largest manufacturing group of processed polyester of Latin America. In 2006, the group diversified its activities by entering the financial services industry through its launch of Cainvest International S.A., an asset management firm recognized by the Financial Services Commission of the British Virgin Islands.
In 2010, the Cohab/Aboulafia Group acquired the totality of shares of Sul America International Bank (Cayman), founded in 1994, and renamed it Cainvest International Bank also known as Bank Cainvest.
In 2015, Bank Cainvest acquired the totality of shares of Intertrust Bank (Cayman), a market leader in providing Authorized Agent Services for Class B banks in the Cayman Islands. Bank Cainvest has merged with Intertrust Bank creating Cainvest Bank and Trust Ltd., today holder of a Category A banking license regulated by the Cayman Islands Monetary Authorities.
In 2016, Bank Cainvest acquired the business from Bahamas-based Dartley Bank and Trust Ltd., expanding the Bank's physical presence to The Bahamas through its fully owned subsidiary Dartley Securities Limited.

Mr. Christofer S. Saunders, CPAMember of the Board - Managing Director
Mr. Saunders currently serves as member of the Board of Directors and Managing Director of Cainvest Bank and Trust. Mr. Saunders served previously as the Chief Financial Officer of HSBC Bank (Cayman) Limited for 8 years. Mr. Saunders' primary responsibility in HSBC was to manage the growth of the balance sheet to achieve efficient capital allocation and utilization of all the resources and monitoring the risk on the bank's balance sheet. Prior to that, Mr. Saunders served as the Chief Financial Officer of Digicel (Cayman) Limited. Mr. Saunders is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountant and earned a B.B.A. in Public Accounting CPA at Pace University, USA.
Mr. Alvaro DominguezMember of the Board – Deputy Managing Director
Mr. Alvaro Dominguez currently serves as Deputy Managing Director of Cainvest Bank and Trust. Mr. Dominguez previously worked as a business development employee and manager at Cayman National Trust Co. Ltd. during the period 1989 through to 1995. He thereafter worked at Cititrust (Cayman) Limited as a manager and subsequently as head of the private banking team at Barclays Private Bank & Trust (Cayman) Limited from 1997 through to 2008. From 2008 to 2011 he worked at Close Brothers (Cayman) Limited, where he was a senior manager in the business development and private client departments.
Mr. Charles AboulafiaMember of the Board – Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Charles Aboulafia currently serves as member of the Board of Directors, Chief Financial Officer of Cainvest Bank and Trust. Mr. Aboulafia is a co-Founder of Cainvest International S.A., an asset management firm recognized by the Financial Services Commission of the British Virgin Islands. Also, Mr. Aboulafia previously worked for Lehman Brothers Alternative Investment Management LLC in New York City. His primary role was in quantitative and qualitative analytics for Lehman Brothers’ fund of hedge funds. He also served as Co-Treasurer for the Student Federal Credit Union at the University of Pennsylvania, investing in various municipal and federal mortgage securities for a multimillion-dollar portfolio. Mr. Aboulafia calculated risk on the asset and the portfolio level, and oversaw all the accounts and reconciliations of the institution. Mr. Aboulafia is a Cum Laude graduate in Finance and Management from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania with a minor in Economics. He is a CFA charter holder and is currently enrolled in Harvard’s Owner/President Management Program. Mr. Aboulafia is fluent in Portuguese, French, English, Spanish and Hebrew.

Mr. Charles Cohab is the Honorary President of Cainvest Bank & Trust. Mr. Cohab is the founder and former president of one of the most important industrial groups in the non-woven textile sector in Brazil, from which he resigned from his position of President in 2008. With over 60 years of business experience, he has created as a start up one of the most important non-woven textile companies in Latin America. Prior to starting his business, Mr. Charles Cohab served in the Israeli Air force, and he is a Federal Aviation Administration certified aeronautical mechanic. Fluent in Portuguese, French, English, Arabic and Hebrew.
Mrs. Carmen Thompson LopezChief Manager of Financial Institutions
Mrs. Carmen served as the manager of financial institutions of Intertrust Bank (Cayman) Ltd., former Close Brothers Bank (Cayman) Ltd, since 2007 until she became the key-executive of the institution. She worked for 32 years in Scotia Bank and Trust ltd. also managing a portfolio of global financial institutions, and she is fluent in English and Spanish.
